What is Kava?
Kava is a plant in the pepper family indigenous to the islands in the South Pacific that is being used as an ingredient in some drugs and food. It is being marketed to relieve stress, anxiety, tension, and insomnia, though these effects have not been confirmed by the Food and Drug Administration. In addition, many countries have determined that the drug poses serious health risks, specifically to the liver.
